Praise for The Bomb That Never Was “Hitler has the bomb, and it's headed for the USA. This meticulously researched historical novel will have you asking, ‘What if?' This is an intelligent, fast-paced page-turner that will make you forget that you already know how it all turns out. Provocative, informative, and entertaining—I couldn't put it down.” —Joseph P. DeSario, author of Limbo and Sanctuary and coauthor of Crusade: Undercover Against the Mafia & KGB “Authoritative and credible in its attention to detail, The Bomb That Never Was captures the spirit and temper of the WWII years and raises some deep philosophical questions about loyalty, treason, and commitment to country. A page-turner … tough to put down … a story well told.” —Robert L. Aaron, journalist and public relations executive

The Interview:

Can you start out by telling us when you are published for the first time or are you multi-published?

Amelia’s Prayer is my first novel. I am publishing the first time.

When you were published for the first time, which route did you go – mainstream, small press, vanity published or self published and why or how did you choose this route?

For my first time publishing, I chose to go through self publishing – assisted publishing. I chose this route because I did a lot of research, as it was my first novel and I am a first-time unknown author,  mainstream seemed to be not an option. I researched self-publishing and assisted publishing and decided on IUniverse was the best choice for me because I am Canadian and IIniverse have a book launch agreement with Chapters’ Indigo in Canada.

How long did it take you to get published once you sign the contract.

From signing the contract with IUniverse it took me approximately two years. However, that was working part-time. And I had a very large edit to take care of!

How did it make you feel to become published for the first time and how did you celebrate?

I felt as though I were watching someone else. It was very surreal. I celebrated quietly with my husband.

What was the first thing you did for promotion when you are published for the first time?

Question four and five overlap -  Currently I am still working on early promotions and have not officially launched Amelia’s Prayer. However, I hope to officially launch Amelia’s Prayer in the town I have lived in for 36 years  - Milton, Ontario, Canada with family and close friends and people who have supported me throughout this journey. We will launch from the local Chapter’s bookstore, do the book signing and afterwards have a small reception where we will serve afternoon tea to celebrate!

Interview with LaVera Edick, author of Four Score and More

Four Score and More

Title: Four Score and More
Author: LaVera Edick
Publisher: Trafford
Genre: Biography
Format: Ebook/Paperback

Statement from Author I was born in 1925. This is my story of growing up on a farm and following the oft-times bumpy road of life. It is the story of my family and ancestors, those pioneers who cut the trails and paved the roads for our journey through life. Several major events helped shape the lives and attitudes of those born before 1940. It was a struggle raising a family in the thirties: not only was the nation in a financial crisis, Mother Nature was in an ugly mood. When people reminisce, they often talk about the “good times” they had during the “bad times.” There was a shortage of money but an abundance of love and family togetherness. A product of hardy pioneer stock, at an early age, I gained satisfaction from a hard day’s work well done. From managing a trucking business and selling brushes, I became first lady of an insurance company and pursued my dreams of becoming an artist. Statement from Jackie Glen, editor: If your grandparents, great-grandparents and their relatives lived in the 1800’s and early 1900’s in the Midwest, you will want to read this book that describes in detail what life was like on the farm. Personal anecdotes about the author and her family will put you in stitches or bring you to tears, but every tale will cause you to wonder how our ancestors survived. Their stories of hard work, sacrifice, and determination not only will remind you of where you came from, but provide a road map of the future.

“Flanked by the colorful stories of several generations before and after her, Edick shares her life journey through the often turbulent, historically and personally, 20th century – a genuine, heartfelt memoir.” –US REVIEW of BOOKS

The Interview:

Can you tell us what your latest book is all about?

My latest book,CAT TALES KITTY CAPERS AND MORE,is about an elderly lady and the feline family of seven who adoptei:l her. It is a story of how they made her llfe more enjoyable and healthier. The book is not just about cats. Part two,MORE,is  also about dogs, horses, turtles, and even a pet pig, named Leadbelly.  Iam an artist and the book is illustrated with more than forty copies of my paintings.

How did you come up with the idea?

I came up with the idea for this book from  the weekly letters  I received from Ruth, the owner  of the cats and also from her daily journals.

What kind of research did you do before and during the writing of your book?

I did research verifying the statements I made in my book pertaining to the health benefits of having a pet.  Love is the most iml)<)rtant health attribute we have and animals are one of nature's best sources of love.

Can you give us a short excerpt?

Although  dogs and cats are probably the most P<Jpular, there are many others; horses, rabbits,
guinea pigs, hamsters, pigs, turtles and even snakes that have shown love and devot!on to their owners, helping them slow down and lead a more  simple life.

In your own experience,is it hard to gela nonfiction book published today?  How did you do it?

I                was 89 years old when I finished writing my second book.  Since I might not have time to get it published Mainstream,I chose to Self- Publish. It was easy to find a company on internet.

Title: Lord of the Mountains
Author: Sabrina Jarema
Release Date: March 14, 2017
Publisher: Lyrical Press
Genre: Historical Romance
Format: Ebook

Amid the glittering fjords and majestic mountains of Norway, this stunning series delves into the loves, battles, and dreams of the Viking clans—powerful men and women who believed in the call of the flesh as well as the soul…

It was said that the man who could look into Silvi Ivarsdottir’s eyes would be meant for her. Powerful jarl Magnus Sigrundson knows he is that man, and that Silvi’s dowry can give him the ships, swords, and silver he needs for his trading empire. Yet beautiful Silvi’s dream is not to be a wife, but a Priestess of the gods for the great temple at Uppsala. Who dares interfere with such passion? The answer lies in Silvi herself, in the way her body awakens to Magnus’ touch, in the way she inspires a reverence he didn’t know he possessed—and in the battles she takes on when she journeys to his mountain home of Thorsfjell.

But soon a dangerous, deceitful enemy threatens to shatter. Now they face another quest: can they find each other again—and dare live and love in each other’s worlds?

Meet the Author:

I live just north of Ocala, Florida, the Horse Capitol of the World. I have a herd of fat, lazy Arabians (and the occasional Thoroughbred) on 40 beautiful acres. One of the Arabians actually works for a living— Ivory Shaddara ++++//, AKA “Dumpling”. We show at Arabian shows all over the eastern US at the Regional and National level. I also have a bunch of spoiled German Shepherds which I enjoy showing.  We’re joined by a variety of turtles, tortoises and some very obnoxious cockatiels.

To avoid farm work as much as possible, I keep busy with other interests: writing Romance novels, illustrating, playing the harp, keyboard and guitar, creating jewelry, and building Victorian dollhouses. I studied Iaido, the art of Japanese swordsmanship, for many years and  I also love beadwork, needlework, photography, cake decorating and amateur astronomy. There are too many possibilities in this world to do only one or two things in life.

I have been a professional fantasy illustrator and have won many awards for my work. I am the Secretary of the Ocala Arabian Horse Association, and am on the Board of Directors of the White German Shepherd Dog Club of America. I am a member of the Romance Writers of America and the Tampa Area Romance Authors.

But even with all this, at the end of the day I still find the time to just sit on my Victorian porch, surrounded by my dogs, watching the horses graze under the moss-covered oaks. And as I greet my beloved stars, I dream of the songs, stories and visions the coming night will bring…
